Won as a national competition to design a model prison in Islamabad. The proposed design is seen as a nurturing environment for both the keepers, and the kept. As a model design it seeks to rehabilitate the prisoners through form, space and program while providing a stress free environment for its regulators.
The program ensures that prisoners are involved in a wide range of constructive learning activities which ensures that the inmates are able to re-integrate into society.
Planning ensures ease of surveillance of inmates and administration by zonal division of the barracks.
As a model prison, the typology and functional components of the prison can be replicated in different contexts and terrains while adapting the specific site conditions and functional parameters.
