DIRKOT HOSPITAL

LOCATION: Azad Kashmir

CLIENT: USAID

YEAR: 2012

PROJECT TEAM: Sikander Ajam, Adeel Jafferi, Sana Ejaz

SIZE: 50,000sq. ft.

COST: Rs. 200,000,000

Designed in collaboration with USAID, the design addresses the challenges of providing the services of a state of the art district hospital in a harsh environment.

Taking cues from the landscape, the buildings are organized along a central spine, creating an efficient layout though which care can be rendered to patients.

Contextually sustainable technologies are incorporated as well into the design such as insulated walls and passive ventilation.
