This renovation project turned a dated and dim family home into a vibrant and modern sanctuary, ready to host new memories. Originally used by the client’s late mother, the house was slated for demolition. However, a thoughtful decision to preserve its structure and layout led to a transformation that is both cost-effective and environmentally conscious.

The design reimagined the house with a focus on light and openness. A floating staircase, now the home’s centerpiece, graces a double-height lounge area that was once a dark and enclosed space. Enlarged windows flood the room with natural light, transforming it into a bright and welcoming heart of the home. Updated finishes throughout further elevate the interiors, giving the house a contemporary aesthetic without erasing its foundational identity.

Key improvements included enlarging openings, expanding the foyer, and adding a sleek new powder room. The electrical and plumbing systems were modernized, ensuring the home meets current standards. Completed in just five months, the renovation was achieved at a fraction of the cost of a rebuild, proving that thoughtful reuse can yield stunning results.

The project at its core, breathes new life into an existing structure, embracing sustainability through renovation rather than new construction. Local materials were used to reduce environmental impact, while a solar power system ensures the home is energy-efficient. The result is a revitalized space that bridges practicality with emotional resonance—a place where the past meets the future, ready for the client’s next chapter.
