COUNCIL OF ISLAMIC IDEOLOGY

LOCATION: Islamabad, Pakistan

CLIENT: Council of Islamic Ideology

YEAR: 1998

PROJECT TEAM: Sikander Ajam

SIZE: 70,000 sq. ft.

COST: Rs. 350,000,000

Won through a national design competition, the design of the Council of Islamic Ideology rationalizes 2 grids present on site; the grid imposed by the master-plan of Islamabad and the second is the grid determined by the direction towards Mecca.
Stylistically, the design delves into critical regionalism while at the same time taking a modern approach.
